You can draw. So what? What are you going to do with that?

—Every mentor I’ve ever had

I think in political speeches.

Quotes pulled from some of my essays:

from Global Ecology Data Synthesis

As we move into the second quarter of the twenty-first century, human populations are exploding, technology is advancing at an exponential rate, and climate change is forcing us to make some of the most large-scale, ambitious, coordinated policy plans in world history. The age of the internet has made the world a much smaller place. My research from 2019 led me to the conclusion that we should develop a more holistic view of ecosystem monitoring and management, but the articles I’ve read these past few weeks have impressed upon me that this might not be going far enough. I now believe that if we don’t somehow coordinate across regions and disciplines, both scientific and business, we will not be able to adequately understand the situation with our planet in time to prevent real catastrophe.

from On the Development of Identity

To suppose that a person’s character is the result of their combination of genes both undermines their resilience and minimizes their suffering.  For there has not lived a person who has not suffered, and if he or she was not resilient, then surely there would be no character to speak of.

from America

As an artist, when I critique my peers it’s because I care about their success and I see their potential for greatness. If I didn’t care, why would I bother to give feedback? To not critique America is to not believe that we can be better than we currently are. You don’t make something better by pretending there’s nothing wrong.

Get Money out of Politics Video

2019

This video was made while I was a part of the organization Wolf-PAC, which is a national political action committee working to end private financing of elections. I have since stopped being active within the organization, but remain totally supportive. This is the issue we need to address in order to address all the problems related to climate change and social injustice.

For more information, check out the Wolf-PAC website:
